Lets Eat(Open)

Boy was Jonathan hungry and he didn't know why. He had just woken up with an intense hunger and his team wasn't due to ship out that day, or so he hoped. He would be mighty disappointed in himself if he had missed a chance to head through the Stargate. He forgot all of his troubles, though, once he laid eyes on the row of breakfast food. Though it probably wasn't anything like his dad's cooking, he was sure it was enough to stuff his gut. As he went through the line, grabbing his food, his thoughts wondered back to when he was back in Afghanistan moving through the chow line. He missed being able to carry his M16 wherever he went.

Like usual when off duty, Jonathan was wearing his MCCUU pants and his FROG combat shirt with the sleeves pushed up to just below his elbow. Once he had his tray stacked high with food he maneuvered through the cafeteria until he found an empty table and sat down. He preferred being by himself. Less likely to make friends that way and less ink he would have to get on his back eventually. He then set himself to the joy of eating scrambled eggs, probably dehydrated, and biscuits smothered in gravy. Every now and then he would stop to take a sip of his orange juice. As he ate, he slowly lowered his guard down as he figured no one would sit next to the man shoveling food into his mouth like a hungry wolf.

Richard strolled into the cafeteria. Despite the SGC having odd mission hours, the chow hall was very strict on its' hours. Fortunately for Richard, this was one of the few hours a day when it was open.

Walking in, he walks over to the chow line and waits for an omelet to be made. Ham, cheese, tomato and fake eggs - couldn't beat it. He continued down the line grabbing some hash browns, yogurt and finally some juice. After paying for the meal he turns around to see the hall filled with people - apprently everyone wanted food before the line closed. Seeing a table with only one person sitting at it, he walks over to the man, asking "mind if I sit here?"

Jonathan was in the middle of shoveling his face full of military food when he heard someone speak. At first it didn't register in his mind that someone was speaking to him but then he looked up to take a drink of good ole OJ when he noticed the man standing in front of him. Clearly military from his attire and British from his accent. Jonathan did a quick take of the room to see if there were any other empty tables but all of them were near full so he new he had no way out. He put on a smile and looked up at the Brit, showing his one blue and one green eye, before nodding.

"Sure man," his southern accent prevalent, "Take a seat."

He motioned with his hand towards one of the chairs in front of him before shoveling a couple more mouthfuls of eggs and gravy biscuits before washing it down with another swallow of orange juice. He then offered his hand towards the Brit.

"Sergeant Jonathan O'Loughlan. United States Marine Corps. You?"
